PROJECT/DESIGN COORDINATOR
Our client, a large project management firm location in Vancouver, is currently seeking a Project/Design Coordinator to join their team on a permanent basis. The PDC role is responsible to provide design support services internally and to our external Design partners.
The selected candidate will have the following job duties and responsibilities:
• Attends client planning meetings, documents meetings.
• By understanding the clients' needs, assists in design concepts or completes speculative AutoCAD drawings
• Reviews site; conducts field measurements, photographs site, documents mechanical and electrical, millwork, doors/windows, etc
• Works with design partners to produce/update/revise space plans and working drawings
• Researches products and materials for clients specifications - develops and presents materials
• Works closely with Project Managers to establish costs and schedules
• Assists in writing of quotes and sales proposals
• Identifies new business opportunities including design services to design partners
• Maintains detailed project documentation including records of key decisions, phone conversations, approvals and sign offs
• Attends and joins networking associations within the design and real estate communities
• Keeps up to date with new developments within the design industry
• Performs other duties as required
The selected candidate will have the following attributes, education and skills:
• Proven tenant improvement/construction project coordination experience in a design capacity.
• Interior Design Degree/Diploma
• Fast and accurate AutoCAD skills
• Attention to detail, organized and efficient and able to organize groups of people towards a common goal.
• Understands BC Building code -- area calculations, occupancy and exiting.
• Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Outgoing personality
• Strong software skills -- AutoCAD, rendering
• Strong sense of urgency to complete projects efficiently and within budget
• Ability to meet and interact with a varied group of internal and external clients
• Ability to work well independently or within a group
