Time to let go of my dream bike. This gem was my daily driver last year, and was a joy to ride. The DL650 is a peppy, confident, easy to ride bike that does equally well on highways and byways.
It is a stock 2007 DL-650 K7 Vstrom that has been lowered. I bought it from John Valk BMW early in 2009 and they told me the previous owner was a lady who liked to go on long trips (Alaska and such). I'm 6'0" and when I sit on the bike, I'm flat footed comfortably. I thought about having it put back on the stock linkages, but it didn't seem worth it. The lower center of gravity seems to help a lot!
Unfortunately, I was unceremoniously cut off on commercial drive in October of 2009, and had to lay the bike down to avoid a rear-ender. Some cosmetic damage resulted, (scratches on the fairing and on the handgrip edge), but the bike still works like a charm. In fact, I picked it up and rode it home that day and it spent a year as my daily driver after that.
It's been in the rain some here and there, but overnighted always under cover in my parking garage away from the elements.
Mileage is a low 49,737km, considering it's been all highway...
I do not have insurance on the bike right now, so any test rides will have to be inside my complex's courtyard.
Don't miss out on this fantastic bike! It will go fast...
