This is the exciting and exquisitely recorded tale of an Oriental painter struggling with his cultural, political, and artistic identification during tumultuous political upheavals of late 19th Century Korea. Being a painter myself, I have seen loads of films concerning artists, the majority of which were unfulfilling considering that they failed to show sufficient of the paint or the art work procedure. This film masterfully and kindly accomplishes both, and the cinematography magnificently captures lavish, gorgeous pictures of attributes throughout the movie. I delighted in everything about this movie-- the acting was superb, the sets were charming, it was tasteful yet sexual, the discussion concerning art was smart, and visually it was a banquet.
