Orbit Routier Tour tandem in great condition. Made to order by JD Cycles in Yorkshire, England, in 2010.
This particular bike has proven extremely capable, completing a cross-Canada tour and countless local trips. It was comfortably ridden by a 6'3" captain and 5'6" stoker, however there is plenty of room for adjustment in both seat posts and the rear handlebars. The bike's ability to accommodate a significant height difference between riders and its superior ride quality are what set it apart from mass-produced factory models.
Noteworthy features include:
- Three brakes. A rear disk brake, front V brake, and rear V break on a "friction lever" - enabling the captain to alternate brakes and better distribute stress
- Strong 48 spoke 26" wheels with flat-resistant Armadillo tires on Alexrims
- "Thud Buster" rear seat post to better absorb the increased impact tandems deliver to the stoker
- 44/32/22 chain ring for a wide range of power and speed gearing options
- Mounts for front and rear pannier racks, plus a bar box (included) for quick and easy access to snacks, money, or bear spray :)
